Mohammad Zahir Bin Ismail

CHAIRMAN

Mohammad Zahir Ismail graduated with Electrical Engineering Degree from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and subsequently gained a master’s degree in Business Administration from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and Melbourne University.

He started his career with TNB in 1990 as an Electrical Engineer in Perai Power Station. Prior to his current position he served for 20 years in Operation and Maintenance at Perai, Gelugor, Tuanku Jaafar and Connaught Bridge Power Stations and in various fields including some business management departments including Business Support Services, Material & Services, Human Resource & Training and Business Performance & Admin. Other notable positions held are Project Manager, Saudi Malaysia O&M Services Co. Ltd, Saudi Arabia, Project Manager, ALIMTIAZ O&M Co. Ltd, Saudi Arabia, Operation Head, Shoaiba Cogeneration Plant, Kuwait and Plant Manager, Sabiya Open Cycle Gas Turbines, Kuwait.

After he came back from overseas assignment in 2014, he has been appointed to lead Strategic Management & Organization Development for Generation Division in TNB and Managing Director of Integrax Berhad before joining the newly formed TNB Power Generation Sdn. Bhd. as the Head of Asset Operation & Maintenance in October 2020.

Ir. Mahathir Nor bin Ismail

DIRECTOR

Ir. Mahathir Nor holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He later broadened his expertise by earning an MBA through a joint program between Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and the Melbourne Business School.

With over 25 years of service at Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Ir. Mahathir has held numerous engineering and senior leadership positions across the organisation. His career highlights include serving as Managing Director of TNB Energy Services Sdn. Bhd. (TNBES) and TNB Engineering Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (TNEC), where he spearheaded strategic initiatives in energy services and infrastructure development.

He is currently the Chief Distribution Network Officer of TNB and Chairman of TNB Engineering Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (TNEC). In addition, he sits on the Boards of Integrax Berhad, TNB Retail Sdn. Bhd. (TRSB), and TNB Integrated Learning Solution Sdn. Bhd. (ILSAS). Previously, he has also served as a Director in more than ten other TNB subsidiaries, reflecting the breadth of his leadership contributions within the TNB Group.

A strong advocate of Malaysia’s energy transition, Ir. Mahathir is committed to enhancing the resilience and flexibility of the electricity distribution network. He champions the adoption of advanced technologies to deliver reliable and secure power, while enabling the seamless integration of renewable energy, electric vehicles (EVs), and other distributed energy resources, supporting TNB’s commitment to innovation and the nation’s sustainable energy future.

YM Raja Dato’ Abd Jalil bin Raja Zaid

DIRECTOR

Y.M. Raja Dato’ Abd Jalil has more than 30 years of experience with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) in engineering and leadership roles across distribution, customer service, and retail. He is currently the Head of Strategic Engagement and has previously served as Chief Customer Officer (SME & Residential) and General Manager of Customer Services, Perak.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Loughborough University, UK, and is passionate about strengthening customer engagement and stakeholder relations.

Dato’ Shahrir bin Abdul Latiff

DIRECTOR

Prior to his current post as Chief Development Officer (Business Development & Execution), Shahrir Abdul Latiff holds the post of Head (Technical Services) in TNB Genco since formation of TNB Genco in Oct 2020. As Head of Technical Services, he is responsible in delivering excellence in major maintenance services and optimising the performances of TNB Genco’s generating assets of various type and technology. Apart from internal customers, Technical Services also provide its services and expertise to major industry players.
Shahrir joined LLN/TNB in 1988 and started his career in Generation Division where he held various roles and positions in power plant and then in the Generation Division Headquarters. Prior to Genco, he was in Energy Ventures Division, TNB from 2013 as General Manager (Business Operation), Head (Project Development) and subsequently Head (Project Execution).
His notable contributions in Project Development was leading the successful acquisition and development of the 2000 MW Jimah East Power Coal Fired Power Plant Project (JEP) and the 1440 MW Southern Power Generation Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Project (SPG).
His roles as Head of Project Execution include overseeing the successful execution and commissioning of JEP and SPG Projects and other notable TNB projects such as 50 MW Sepang Solar Project, 30 MW Bukit Selambau Solar Project and development of 300 MW new hydro plant project. Previously he served as Managing Director of TNB Energy Services Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of TNB from 2010 to 2013.

Hasnor Zubaidy bin Mohamad Nor

Director

Hasnor Zubaidy bin Mohamad Nor is currently holds the position of  Head of Project Management Unit, Asset Development Department of TNB Genco. He graduated from University of Salford, United Kingdom in 1991 with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering  (Honours). 

He started his career with TNB on 2nd September 1991 as a Mechanical Engineer at Sultan Mahmud Power Station, Kenyir. Eventually he was holding various portfolios at Kapar Project Phase 3, Sultan Ismail Power Station, Paka, TNB Energy Venture major project (Engineering), Jimah East Power (JEP) Project, and finally in Asset Major Maintenance, Technical Services (TNB Genco) before holding the current position in Project Management, Asset Development TNB Genco. He has an extensive background in operation and maintenance (O&M) with a focus on major outage planning and supply chain management.

He has a wide range of experience in various project management areas, including TNB major projects. Throughout his professional journey, he dedicated 12 years to project engineering and management. His main areas of expertise included project design, overseeing project documentation and agreements, and spearheading international bidding process. 

His broad expertise, knowledge and experience in project management, operation, and maintenance led to his appointment as the Chief Engineer, Asset Major Maintenance, for the newly formed TNB Power Generation Sdn Bhd in 2020

Siti Norbaya binti Dinyati

Director

Siti Norbaya binti Diyanti was appointed to lead Finance & Strategy Department, TNB Genco since June 1, 2023.

She is a strategic and experienced finance professional with more than 24 years within Tenaga Nasional Berhad covering all aspects of financial portfolios including international business, investments, financial reporting, analysis, internal audit and operations.

A Subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Prior to her current position she served in various financial positions within TNB including Head of Business Partner (Finance) and Head of Capitol Allocation & Investment in Distribution Network Division. She also has managed financial portfolios and provided business advisory services for TNB subsidiaries like Yayasan Tenaga Nasional and TNB Energy Services Sdn. Bhd.

Currently pursuing her CPA, she holds Bachelor of Commerce (BComm Hons) from Lincoln University, New Zealand.
